Because he’s so smart and charming and knowledgeable about the issues that matter, so she’s completely enraptured by him.

Just the other day I was explaining how when you buy a 2 metre HDMI cable it tends to be only 1.8 metres long, because it’s likely based on a historical measurement of “six feet”, and basically all the women nearby were completely seduced and pretty much wanted to marry me on the spot.

Ah, that must be my problem! All I ever tell them about is how DisplayPort 2.1 is good for future-proofing but 1.4 is probably good enough for most uses at this point in time, and how I hope it someday replaces HDMI as the default standard.

Didn’t realize chicks only go crazy for HDMI specs…

Yeah yeah, I know they’re not a monolith. The thing is, “out there” doesn’t help me. People say “DisplayPort women exist,” but any time I take a look around all I see is everybody flaunting their HDMI knowledge, and no matter how many times I bring up DisplayPort, I get no bites! Not even a nibble!

Try and find somewhere with a video wall, made up of multiple screens - perhaps some sort of trade expo, shopping centre (mall), public ‘big screen’ or an art gallery.

Those looking at the front of the screen, where the image goes, those are your HDMI girls. Those looking at the back of the screen, seeing how it’s powered, connected, wired up etc, those are your displayport girls.
