He’d rather be beaten to a pulp by NATO than admit he’s losing to Ukraine. He’s been provoking NATO into retaliation and calling it an unprovoked attack but they’re not biting and are happy to let Ukraine humiliate him some more. The desperate move left is to actually attack a NATO country outright. That it needs to come to this.

Yes they havent “explicitly” targeted a nato country, as per an attack, at least not so intentionally as to cause the other nato countries to respond with direct action.

Maybe. Trump’s power is waning, and it’s hard to predict exactly what he would do anyway. It’s likely democrats will control congress next year and can send aid. If Europe can hold out until 2029, a different president might be more willing to provide active support.
With 53 GOP senators Trump is all powerful in the USA. They already purged the military generals and the rest of the federal government employees.
Resistance is coming from local and state levels which means fuck all for NATO.

Personally, I think Poland alone would break Russia; probably before anybody else was able to mobilize. They are champing at the bit, they pray Putin does this.
