Years ago I was listening to a podcast about the KGB and remember a discussion about how one of their strategies was to overload the media. Instead of pushing one storyline of current events, they pushed many, often conflicting, storylines to confuse and paralyze public discourse.

There’s a number of downsides with the AI systems, that IMO are features for the ones involved with AI development. Say hardware costs putting gaming and high end computer hardware out of our pricing hands.

Amazon, Microsoft and google, all have the desire to move you to cloud computers, Think of it, instead of owning a computer, you can rent access to your computers and storage, prices can be raised over time once you are locked in. All of them have been sticking their toes in this idea for decades, heck Amazon and Google both tried and failed to make streaming consoles. The only problem, people like owning hardware, and they can’t really compete on price against actual owned hardware. But… if they can’t bring their price down, maybe they can bring the price of owned hardware up until the equation shifts.

Sadly I feel like that’s the ultimate pivot point as well, if AI never turns profitable at least not at the scale they are building, they’ll keep the data centers going under this pivot, and everyone else going all in has their own motives to love the pivot. If the movie and music industry can’t profitably get rid of troublesome writers and actors demanding better treatment. Imagine how much easier policing piracy will be when your hardware is all in the hands of trusted large corporations with media investments. Totalitarian governments will love it even more, on top of whatever survives of AI being able to run flock cameras etc… Microsoft and Amazon will happily give them back doors to everyones computers.

But don’t worry, I’m sure china’s going to ramp up chip production to counter the hardware prices. No way that can be countered by either extreme tarrifs, or just outright laws banning their use in the states like they’ve done with Huweii devices or BYD cars.

So yeah I also agree, slop and misinformation intentionally burrying legitimate sources is just one of many things that we all see as a “bug”, that probably are real “features” to the Epstein class.

So here is an example of how it’s creating dead internet.

My cat recently had an injury to his gums. I was trying to look up a diagram of cat teeth because I wanted to rule out that a tooth was missing or not.

Cause there was a lot of blood. Anywho.

I search on duckduckgo, “cat teeth” and “cat tooth diagram”. “Cat teeth layout”. “Cat teeth health”.

I tried a few things.

And literally 3/4th of the images are AI

So they aren’t accurate at all. One I saw, was even from a vet clinic website.

Many Cat images were just a AI cat with human teeth but shrunk down.

In reality this is not how their teeth are.

I was getting incredibly irritated with the fact I could not find an accurate true image of cat teeth.

I still cannot find very many images of cat dental problems or what those look like.

Like maybe found 3 real images.

I just wanted to check if I could figure out what was going on. I did call the vet and talked to them twice and they are having me monitor him. But I told them on the phone I can’t tell for sure where the blood came from. But possibly a puncture but possibly from a missing small tooth.

Who knows. I can’t find an accurate photo of the premolar teeth to compare it to my cats.

I really feel like this wouldn’t have happened 2 years ago
