I just learned that the Qt framework that powers so much of Ubuntu Touch🇩🇪 is Finnish.

It’s not about tearing others down but about recognizing the talent we have at home.

Why do you care about the place were it was developed? Languages know no borders. Regardless whether those are natural languages or programming languages.

I mean there’s legitimate concerns of where donations are going to. People don’t want to support bad actor nations.

That’s nonsense. People are not responsible for the country they are born in. Just russia is a morally bankrupt dogshit fucking country doesn’t mean that every russian open source developer is that aswell aswell.

Sure, but there’s a difference between Donaldland and some guys in their basement writing a spec. The people do not necessarily support the government.

It makes more sense to keep the money from companies than free software developers.

Not sure ARM64 really counts as it’s own thing it is so “normal”. (Unlike ARM32/24)

Qt originates from Norway. Most of the dev team was in Oslo, with small teams in Berlin and Brisbane.

I agree Qt is a language. C+++. It own preprocessor before the C/C++ preprocessor. Unless that has gone now… been a while since I was made to do Qt.
