These sanctions are essentially useless, right? Like, this is all entirely around influencing the results of the upcoming elections in Israel and will be gone soon after.

The symbolism here is “hey, can you elect a new prime minister so we can do damage control to your image and try to get the ball rolling again? Netanyahu is not recoverable in the eyes of the West and we’ve been blaming him and him alone for your genocidal state for awhile. It’s time.”
