I thought people do that on purpose, to attract attention to the meme?

Story time: When I was a kid, my parents saw a fruit stand that misspelled the word as FRUT. They stopped to tell the guy, who sold them a carload of stuff, because they didn’t want to be impolite and just lecture him.

Then they told him he misspelled the word. He said he knew. Why didn’t he change it, then? Because half his customers just stopped to have him correct the sign, but still bought his FRUT.

Great… so we aren’t just gutless, but also incompetent.

I usually find out when someone else points it out in the comments. By now, it’s more of a character trait and just roll with it.
