    “It will be a combination of economic isolation the world has never seen before, and the continued blockade in the Strait of Hormuz that will keep anything from going in or out of the Iranian ports,” [Scott Bessent] added.

    The most economically isolated country in the world, North Korea, isn’t doing great but it’s still around and it’s still a crazy dictatorship that’s not going anywhere soon. Cuba too has suffered the US’ economic wrath for a full 66 years and it’s still around too.

    I’d say the US’ track record in successful economic isolation of people they don’t like isn’t stellar.

    As always, the one thing you can count on with absolute certainty is that ordinary people trying to lead a normal life will suffer for decades to come courtesy of the United States.
