    They’re all wearing so much clothing and blankets. Did it get cold that recently in India or are the clothes extremely breathable??

      Have not watched the movie. But if I’m not mistaken - many of the past traditions and including for the royalty. It was that the grooms family that would traverse through the land to pick up/bring back the bride back to his home. It’s still somewhat practiced if im not mistaken, but not like the caravan style as you seen in those old school films.       It’s from a movie that takes place in mid 19th century. So the costumes are supposed to represent that time.

      But the region it take place in is known for chilly winters.
