basically what the title says. when you’re “loyal” to somebody, that means you’ll take their side, even when they’re wrong, and that’s unfair towards the rest of the world.

Yes people can be biased in favour of their loved ones but it’s pretty clear that we can’t help this in most cases; instead of hoping for people to self adjusted their loyalty/bias towards people, we instead just avoid having impartial judges, by not allowing people to judge their loved ones in many different professional walks of life
