You can use engineered viruses to develop medical treatments like anti-cancer oncolytic viruses, viral vectors for gene therapy and viral immunotherapy.
Of course, you can also use them to engineer horrific diseases tailored to the genetics of specific groups of humans too, but I mean who would do that? I trust our billionaire overlords.

I wouldn’t trust the billionaire dictators in the U.S. with a laser pointer, let alone a bioengineered virus.
