Not all moths do that though, but you point is still valid. I think moths are beautiful too. I’ll carefully catch and release outside any animal I find in my home, but moths compared to butterflies aren’t just for their own survival. They also frantically get up in your face more than butterflies do, and that’s just not a nice experience independent of how you feel about the animal.
For anyone who doesn’t know about moth reproduction cycles: the adult stage of many moth species lack mouths and functional digestive tracts. Their entire adult life lasts only a handful of days; long enough to find a mate, lay eggs, and then die. They are fascinating animals.
I think its the context, if you have moths in your home, they’re eating clothing or laying eggs in your food.
Moths are cool outside tho.
