Half of the biggest names on YouTube have become millionaires off of the platform and all know each other professionally if not personally. I don’t understand why they complain about the difficulty of dealing with youtube and their incredibly unreliable management when they literally have the money, the popularity, and the business acumin to create their own, far better version of YouTube and take huge swsths of YouTube’s viewership with them.

Mr. Beast may be a predator and a sociopath, but if he did a coutdown and give away for a month advertising his permanentl move to something like Nebula, then ported everything but a single video explaining why, he wouldn’t even need to invest in the business, the subscriptions he’d bring in alone would rocket them into the top slots for streaming.

They already did though? It’s called Nebula.

A direct competitor to YouTube isn’t something you start with a few hundred million at this point I’m pretty sure. YouTube has only really turned profitable in the last few years… If they’re even profitable now. Google ran it at a loss for a long time to maintain their ad dominance.
