Orca SLAMS Sunfish
I figured it was a bit hyperbolic, but they seriously sploded them. I have to wonder sometimes how these behaviors first get discovered, from the orca perspective that is.
Ayres and colleagues have dubbed this new behavior “ram-to-fragment.”

After the sunfish has shattered, the orcas frolic in and feed on the fragments of its flesh.

Oh, i thought the title was clickbait, but it really is not. Poor sunfish, but i guess such is life if you’re not an apex predator.
Sunfish are about as far from being apex predators as you can get. Insert copypasta here
It somehow makes it feel a bit better knowing that the fish are apparently already dead.
They are ocean sunfish though, if there was ever a creature to dunk on it’s absolutely them.

Well, the seal’s not exploding it. Orcas just chow down on those floating snack pods too.
If it helps their brain is the size of a walnut and they probably didn’t feel any pain.

Not gonna lie, if you read the article (other orcas wearing sunfish as a hat, others cooperating to raise one above the surface and keep it there while alive, for shits and giggles), that’s not the ocean that is terrifying, Orcas are hella human-like, I’d say
