I invested in a set of hex keys about five years ago and I have never been more smug than when I get to pop those bad boys out. Even brought a set to work…

I like comments like this because it reminds me that there are people out there who don’t even own one set of hex keys, let alone one set for each room in the house because they got sick of having to go to the garage all the time. although lately I’ve been thinking it’d be nice to have a t handle set inside the house too, but that’s a hard cost to justify to avoid thirty seconds getting them from the garage

to be clear, I didn’t actually buy a set for every room in the house. that’s just how many I have. most in the garage, one in the kitchen, one in the hobby area, and one in the office. plus the ones in the bike tool kits, and the impact sets in the work tool bag, and the extras that were a good price and I give away to people when they mention they don’t have any allen keys…

oh man then I bought a stubby set recently because I wanted to ensure something I was designing could actually be worked on, so that was nice.

I have a set I keep in my bag so I can tweak my breaks or make other minor repairs to my bike on the road. Made for some funny looks when I went through security at work until I explained what they were.
