For years, Chinese leader Xi Jinping has pushed ethnic minority groups like Tibetans and Uyghurs to adopt an identity rooted in Chinese nationality and allegiance to the ruling Communist Party.
Now, that push has been codified into a sweeping new law that reaches into classrooms, neighborhoods and homes – and gives Beijing the right to target people outside of its borders that it believes violate its rules.
The statute, officially known as the Ethnic Unity and Progress Promotion Law, came into effect on July 1. It bans acts that “undermine ethnic unity or create ethnic division” among China’s 56 officially recognized ethnicities, which include a Han Chinese majority that makes up over 90% of the country’s 1.4 billion people.
Aaand you think, if you used the non-american version*, the evil Chinese version, to check out what people say about Xinjiang, you‘d end up being brainwashed by Chinese state propaganda? And you‘re so scared or prejudiced about that possibility, that you won‘t even consider it? How do you actually manage to do critical thinking with that kind of approach?
*which got bought to modify the algorithm, so that US citizens won‘t be able to see the reality of the Palestinian genocide anymore, so with the sole intention to censor and brainwash.
You clearly understand how the Americans can manipulate the algorithm to control the content users receive yet you do not think that the Chinese are doing the same thing to their version.

What I‘m criticizing is, that you avoid reviewing your own claims and prejudices about something for which your knowledge stems from western propaganda only. All you do is claim that everything you associate the platform with is brain rot, government spyware, and propaganda. By hearsay. By indoctrination. Nobody’s telling you to use it daily or whatever. You talk out of your ass, which only poops out what you’ve put in before, only browner and stinkier. Exemplary, on a hit piece propaganda post on one of the US’s main media arms, against one of the two major western enemies. About a law that does not do what the piece is claiming it does. I suggest reading the direct translation on this comment thread.
Surely, the Chinese government will censor shit, one can hardly prove a negative. So, if you won’t find what you hoped to see, you‘ll only confirm your prejudice, that it‘s all censored. Meh. But what you could infer, if you wouldn‘t be fueled by your sinophobic hate, is that the people that do visit the region could very well put stuff on the internet, that would verify the genocide claims made by western media. But that’s not really happening. People would certainly try that, as circumventing the Great Firewall is of course possible, but you don’t hear about them disappearing or being jailed for exposing the claims, do you? And if there would be a rare occasion, would you check their veracity, or again take it all in, spoon fed to you, only to validate your hate? At which point will you stop angrily repeating bullshit, but actually start to think critically? My claim is, that you just won’t.
Likely in the same way you never took a minute to research the refutations of the alleged Uyghur genocide, only to steadfastly remain on your indoctrinated idea, that these evil Communists must of course be doing, what your good willing and honest media is telling you and now is replicating anytime it gets a chance to do so.
E: Brother, I’ve read your latest comment regarding Palestine. A lot of us went through similar realizations. But the consequences of what the West is and how it behaves around the world and how it lies to its own citizens to maintain it’s machinery just doesn’t stop in Palestine. The world is run by Capitalists, which own the media and, quite frankly, almost everything (like my flat or the fields my food grows on). We need to work our way through all the lies and that comes with a lot of pain for overcoming our own dissonances and preconceptions. Here, in the case of China, it‘s important to realize, that they are the main ideological adversary for the Capitalist system, and like Russia are unwilling to submit to the western capitalist class. It was similar with the Soviet Union, which is also the reason, why we’ve all learned a lot of history, that is actively written by the winner. Hate on nations like China is just manufacturing consent and dividing the working class. The Chinese are not our enemy, but their system is an existential threat for the Capitalists of the West.
I’m not American and was not around for the McCarthyism era, I have no hatred of “reds” or fear of them being under my bed. My fight is against imperialism and cultural genocide which is clearly going on here. I understand the geopolitics of the region and China’s need to secure the heartland, there is no way China is giving up Xinjiang or Tibet, they are essential to China’s security. These regions only hope for freedom for their people is a collapse of the CCP.
You are naive to believe that the CCP are not using Bytedance and tiktok to push their propaganda. The Americans are doing exactly the same thing, it’s propaganda on all sides only you can’t seem to see the propaganda from the Chinese side and eat it up with no thought, consideration or investigation. You asked me to view a comment in the link, I assume you wanted me to read what was contained in this new law China is bringing in. I have already read all of that, fortunately others have read the entire document which contains Orwellian gems such as this,
“Parents or other guardians of minors shall, in accordance with the law, fulfill their responsibilities for family education, educate and guide minors to love the Communist Party of China”
When I am talking about what is happening in Xinjiang I am not talking about Nazi death camps I am talking about cultural genocide. China is trying to erase the culture and the language of the people there. My own country experienced something similar so I can recognise what China is up to through the language used in this new law. Imperial nations like China typically copy what has worked for other nations. Destroy the peoples language and you go a long way to destroying their culture. The Chinese government has been encouraging Han Chinese to move to Xinjiang and Tibet in order to plant the area with a strong minority of loyal citizens. The British did the same in Ireland, the Americans in Texas and the Russians across eastern Europe. It’s all the same playbook.
There is enough evidence of what is going on, we even have leaked Chinese government documents, satellite imagery and the testimony of those incarcerated. You can choose to believe the Chinese government like a MAGA believes trump if you wish. There is no convincing the indoctrinated.

Bit of news for you buddy but China is not communist, it is hard to argue they are even socialist unless you take the loose Marxist definition of we promise we will be communist one day, we just need to exploit the excess labor of the Chinese people for a little bit, we will all be rich soon. I am not a fan of the capitalists or the western system. I get that China is doing something different but to me what China has done is just figure out a different way to exploit the working classes. Russia and its kleptocratic oligarchy is not a model to admire or emulate either.
