“What is definite is that these criminals must be seized by the collar and brought to justice for their criminal deeds,” he asserted.

Never in my life could I have expected to agree with the Iranian government. But, on this specific issue? I do. There needs to be accountability for this.

    Well sure, if the local Methodist minister had a rule book that said child sex abuse is OK. Maybe it does, considering how often it happens. I wasn’t talking about individual Muslims. Was talking about nations that are Islamic states and follow Sharia law. They all seems to be restrictive on personal rights especially if you happen to be a woman or lgbt. It’s a growing issue with a lot of different cultures these days but i personally think its a bit disingenuous to suggest its islamaphobic to highlight the treatment of women in Islamic states

      Fortunately they are not all the same. For example, there is no comparison between the Taliban in Afghanistan with the UAE.

      When it comes to complaints about Islam, notably stuff like “Honor” killings and such, that is not part of the faith or the Koran. It’s a primitive tribal belief system that’s a holdover from before Islam existed.

        Just because some are less bad than others doesn’t mean it isn’t a pattern. Your own wiki link includes this near the start

        There are, however, punishments for various types of Zina (unlawful sexual relations) in Islamic law. Zina includes both fornication (when they are unmarried), for which the punishment is flogging, and adultery (when they are married, but not to each other), for which the punishment is death by stoning.

        I guess that it might be unfair to paint with the exact some brush but its a brush that looks quite similar for each of them.

        UAE does seem to be partly an exception to this however there are still things such as

        Emirati law requires women to obtain a male guardian’s consent to marry. Additionally, a husband has legal rights to request his wife’s obedience, and women can be deemed “disobedient” if they take outside employment without their husband’s consent Etc

        It’s probably more of a fundamentalist state issue than only Islamic states but it doesn’t change the end result
