So I’m gonna move into my own place in the near future, and I’ll need a TV. So are there any European manufacturers or brands i should keep in mind when buying one?

Loewe und Metz produce TVs in Germany. Not sure how good their models are though.

Doubt there are any. Maybe some really small nieche commercial displays. SmartTVs are subsidized by spying on you and running ads, so best you can do is fuck over the foreign manufacturer by never connecting it to the internet and only use it as a display for you own devices (in hopes that you have more control over them). Second best thing you can do is buy used.

One thing that I can add is that I bought one of those philips branded TVs that come with their own linux based OS and just never connected it to the internet. That way atleast the money for the license stays in Europe I guess…

TP Vision, the Philips tv brand belongs completely to the Chinese TPV Technology. However, many models are manufactured (assembled?) in Europe (Poland, Slovakia?).
