So… Israel? I’m not sure the US actually has any other allies anymore

Thats horrifying. I didnt beleive this when I read it so I looked it up. Looks like you’re correct. It seems cryptoscam bucks are a permanent part of our economy now. This must be this weeks, “And then, things got worse” event for the US.

Its a pretty big ask. Heres what else you could buy with 300 billion:

        3000 F-35 fighters

21 of the most modern US aircraft carriers.

Its about what the UN estimated it would take to end world hunger permanently across the planet.

      Of course not

I believe that Israel will continue to steal more of Palestine and Lebanon, and most of the west will look uncomfortably at their toes for fear of being called antisemites

Definitely not the Jewish people in their own country at least but some strains of the far right have good relationships with Israel nevertheless. For instance Orban worked quite closely with Netanyahu and was called a friend of Israel despite at home doing stuff like praising WW2 figures who made antisemitic laws or promoting Soros conspiracy theories.

If antisemitism grows in countries with decently large Jewish populations, that encourages them to flee to Israel where they constitute a majority. Since over half of the Jewish people in the world don’t live in Israel, such migrations could make Israel much more powerful militarily and economically than it is today, so Israel the state could be better off in a more antisemetic world that is harder on the Jewish people. It would incentivize more settlers due to lack of housing and reduce the Arab proportion of the population, furthering goals of the Israeli right. At the same time, the right wing in the countries the Jewish people would be fleeing from would be happy to reduce the numbers of people with a different culture nearby. And they can cooperate on other things they may find of interest too like how Hungary and Israel got some military and Pegasus spyware deals, diplomatic cover, etc.

No. But hopefully it means that Iran will be able to fully unload on Israel (if Israel keep at it) without worrying about any repercussions from the US.

My best guess is that the US plans to abandon Israel for the rest of the Trump administration. Should Israel and Iran go to war, the US will not do anything besides send weapons (as they have done previously). They will not carry out anymore military strikes on Iran.

Should Iran respond to attacks on Lebanon by re-closing the straight of Hormuz, the US would be forced to begin withholding material support from Israel and then renegotiate a second peace agreement.

The Obama deal was supposed to have “given” Iran ~$2B, but that was actually a settlement of claims made by Iran pursuant to pre-revolutionary contracts, disputes, and treaties.

So I’m suspicious of this $300B figure. How much of that is sanctions relief and/or unfreezing Iranian assets?

It’s probably misleading to characterize that figure as though we’re writing them a check for war reparations. But there aren’t enough details to be sure.

Anyway, I don’t think it’s wise to adopt the language and tactics of people who think diplomacy is a waste of time and would prefer a military solution.

Your shitty country started a war of agression so you have to pay for it. It is a decent deal. Iran deserve a bigger compensations. The sanctions damage is estimated to be a trillion of dollars.

Why are you keep believing the idea that Iran will seek nukes which was the exact bullshit excuse that started the war

It’s a good deal because the US and Israel are terrorist states that engage in genocide, but it’s also good for the US because it floods Iran with dollars (which bolsters our currency).

Ideally a deal would be struck in which we lean on Israel to remove all nuclear weapons from the Middle East, and in exchange Iran dismantles their nuclear energy program.

The Israeli’s stole our nuclear technology and should be forced to give us back our nukes (our tech = our nukes), but we’ve yet to see a president willing to stand up to Israel on this matter. If we could remove all nuclear weapons from the region, the global economy would be safer and Israel would not be able to threaten its neighbors into wanting their own nuclear weapons.

It’s a good deal for world for reopening SoH. No other alternative for opening it. US/GCC would have incurred too much permanent damage. While Trump is only president stupid/compromised enough to have fallen for Netanyahu bait to start, he’s also only one with reality distortion power to call a stop, victory.

World/Americans being liberated from USrael empire is closer today. There is crazy congressional bills to add $700B (70%) in military spending this year with $500B permanent, and to put Mossad in command of US intelligence. This gets harder, if military goals are limited to Cuba/Canada, or recession hits, and US power/“pretenses of idealism in abusing power” loses credibility. There’s a far better world with Iran an influence peer.

It seems like a pretty fair deal for peace. US ceases aggression and helps rebuild. Iran reopens the strait.

Everything else is window dressing. Promises can always be broken by either side, but this would conclusively end things for now.

Is it great solely for US self interest? Maybe not but no one cares.

The alternative is economic and supply chain collapse.

get nothing and in 30 years they will be at it again with the nuclear weapons?

Thirty? They’ll be back at it next week.
