Some on the far right have done so but most people learn the history of the last couple times Poland aligned with Russia and how it always ends with losing the country
There is zero evidence that the US would intervene if Russia invaded anyone, in fact we have evidence that the US wouldn’t do shit about it other than sell weapons to make money from it. The US has been doing that exact thing with Ukraine, which Russia invaded. Expecting a different outcome in a nearly identical situation is one of the stupidest ideas.
Just look at the Arabian Gulf countries… They built US bases in the promise of protection, and when they were attacked as a result of the US starting a war, they were left to defend themselves AND defend the US bases while the American soldiers escaped to hotels.
You’d be a complete moron to request a US base after what we all just witnessed.
Will it though? I could easily see Trump just writing off the deaths of any service members as a favor to his best buddy Putin or even ordering them to help Russia with the invasion. Best case scenario he just has the entire base stand down and sit on their asses while Russia does what it wants. He’s already indicated he doesn’t give a single flying fuck about NATO, and it’s not like he’s ever let little things like laws or treaties stop him before.
It wasn’t specifically intended as the typical anti-communist shot many comments here normally are. More just a general “be careful who you invite in, Poland” as I don’t feel cozying up to Trump and the US military is in any country’s best interest.
While communism isn’t for me, at least not in any way I’ve seen it play out, I do believe Marx got a lot right about capitalism. I can think M-R wasn’t the best deal for Poland while also believing the US and much of the world was wrong for not being better allies to the Soviet Union. Some of us are capable of a little nuance every now and then.
Wait… Poland wants the Nazis now? Do they realize what they’re asking for?
poland is still far-right politically, they just dont like russians.
Can’t say I blame them. Russia was pretty shitty to them on their way to Berlin. And still shitty until Poland escaped the Iron Curtain.
And still being shitty.
im surprised they havnt completely “hypnotized by russia” since most far right govts aligned with russia over the years.

They’re asking for something that will force US involvement in a war if Russia were to invade.
