I noticed it years ago and hung up my Scattergun and Force-A-Nature for a Frontier Justice and a Gunslinger.

I didn’t retire, I saw an opening and was rehired.

I used to be at the top of every Lobby In COD in my prime, now I’m lucky if I’m not all the way at the bottom.

This is probably me. I still make time to game, but its way less. And I don’t play PVP anymore because if I did it would be all the gaming I did and I have a backlog.

I tend to play until I get really good at a specific PVP game. Takes a few thousand hours usually per game for me to plateau and finally get bored which means I never play any solo games.

I recently got back into League and climbed my way back to Gold again. The last time I got to Gold on my own is like 12 years ago or so? Peaked at Gold 3 when I still played actively. And it’s quite likely that the game is harder to be good at today than it was 10 years ago considering that there’s such a wealth of information to peruse and get better at the game.

Gold is in no way anything stellar to brag about, but for me it’s quite an accomplishment considering how difficult it had been for me push past Silver for so long years ago.

I hate how much this tracks. Haven’t stepped back in for the better part of 2 years now. Granted, I’ve picked up new hobbies, but gaming’s been my rock for decades.

If it helps at all, I’ve noticed some of my gaming skills slipping too, and it’s still my go to hobby whenever I have the time. Part of it is just age, and also not being able to sink entire days into it anymore like in childhood.

I had to return a game recently that really appealed to me and was reccomended by a youtuber that tends to have good reccomendations because the moment to moment gameplay was just too twitchy, required juggling too much info at once, and needed performing too many complex key combos at speed.

skill issue. I’m better than ever at fighting game combos (although I got tore to shreds on Skullgirls online), and I’m doing great on super meatboy on a fucking arcade stick.

Ironically I bought/asked for the arcade stick as a gift to play 2d games like SMB or Speulunky or MAME/Retro games and not for fighting games… but when you have it, you might as well give it a go.

EDIT: Also, this is while I work full time, take care of a child and work on software projects after work.

So providing the context/source = promoting it? Do you think people are going to see the descriptor text and say, “Finally! This meme made me decide to finally download TikTok!” Doubtful. Everyone and their momma (literally) knows about TikTok. It doesn’t need advertising. I think you’re doing more to draw attention to it and thus Streissanding the thing anyhow.

If you want people to visit tiktok then you cite tiktok, if you dont want people to use it then don’t fucking cite tiktok

TikTok users dont give af about attribution or they wouldnt be making short form content on a fucking Chinese Military Psyop. An image with text won’t cause people to search for a video source on its own.

My first and last point make perfect sense because an image with a caption in it won’t direct people to tiktok, but citing tiktok as the source beneath it will.
