The IRGC said the “LN” tail code on the wreckage identified the aircraft as belonging to the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath in Britain, home to the 493rd Fighter Squadron.
Some analysts suggested the debris could instead belong to an F-15E Strike Eagle, as the red coloring visible on the wreckage aligns with markings on F-15s from the same squadron.

Yeah I’m just talking about the plane, I did not imply or mean to imply it was the same thing. “One” not “this one”.
Congress has tried to shutdown the A-10 program multiple times due to the fact that it would not fair well in peer, let alone near peer contested airspace, was trying to discuss with fellow airplane enthusiasts since both these planes were taken down by Iran, or mechanical failures.
Ahh, my bad. I misread your response as “this was confirmed to be an a10.”
The A10 had it’s day and place, mainly as a ground support aircraft battling against under armed insurgency groups. But yeah, against a force that has somewhat capable air defense they are definitely out of their depths.
