I tried writing a short story where a guy OD’s on a bottle of sleeping pills. As he lies there dying he meets a ghost who encourages him to fight it long enough so his sister can find him and take him to the ER. The ghost is obviously not human, and the guy remarks on it and the ghost says “What you didn’t think aliens were a thing?”
