If half of the Americans actually voted against this crap it wouldn’t happen. They didn’t and so they’re at fault.

Well it’s way less than half that voted against trump. The percentage of eligible voters that actually vote in the U.S. is pathetic.

But yes, sucks for those that voted against it. But their (much lesser) culpability is not not striking, protesting, campaigning, etc. If they’re doing all that, then I’m sure they’re just as pissed off at the rest of Americans so they wouldn’t mind my generalization.

The percentage of eligible voters that actually vote in the U.S. is pathetic.

65.3% of voters voted in 2024. Thats higher than the UK or Ireland, and its not even a national holiday to do it. Its close to par with Canada.

So I call BS on your post.

And it’s pathetic in those places too. But when it’s a choice of trump or a less insane option, that 35% of Americans who didn’t bother to vote is a whole lot of idiots who are part of the problem.

They ran what they ran. I honestly don’t know if they’d had a further left platform if they’d have lost more centrists than gained leftist votes in the places that mattered. But they were still obviously the far better choice, so I still hold any American who didn’t vote for them responsible for trump and his actions.

OK? and people voted how they voted. If you’re not going to tie campaigns to outcomes then you arent talking about reality, just your own feelings.

My point is, even if the Dems ran a crappy election, they were a much better choice than Trump. And anyone who doesn’t see that is a fool. I don’t see why Americans need to be coddled to get up off their asses and vote for the better choice. Just don’t be idiots, already. Or else you are responsible for not stopping trump.

Many of us are doing those things, but that is beside my point. I am more referring to the notion that civilians deserve the hell of warfare, particularly when policies they personally voted for are what led there.

I believe this sort of “give them what they deserve” thinking is what allows our leaders to even wage war at all, and without it, there would be little to no public appetite for warfare.

I find it helps me to remember that even the most violent and rabid constituencies are voting based on a concerted multi-billion dollar constant misinformation campaign, and holding them responsible for their position in that scenario is blaming the victim. The people that are callous to the other side and cheer on bloodshed were programmed daily for many years to behave in that manner. Rather than kill them or wish for their death, we can work to dismantle the apparatus that took our friends, neighbors, and family members from us and turned them into those ghouls. I believe most will return to sanity on their own if the spigot of falsehoods stops.

I don’t want any bloodshed. But we’ve got bloodshed. Lots of it. And it’s being perpetrated by the U.S. on behalf of its citizens. I suspect there would be more internal resistance to trumps horrific policies if they resulted in some bombs hitting mainland U.S. just the rise in gas prices might be tipping the balance, but probably not. I’m sorry that it hurts your feelings, but even participating in the U.S. economy is supporting it, and therefore supporting the murdering by its leaders. I do hope you can figure out how to dismantle the current insane government and its supporters. But you can’t expect other countries to sit by while you bomb them and just hope you can figure it out eventually .
