Israel said early Friday that it plans to take over Gaza City in another escalation of its 22-month war with Hamas. The decision, taken after a late-night meeting of top officials, came despite mounting international calls to end the war and protests by many in Israel who fear for the remaining hostages held by Hamas.
Why is this being called a war? To my knowledge, Palestine is not currently recognized as a nation. That aside from the one-sided atrocities committed against civilians…
It’s a war in the same way that Nazi Germany was at war with the Jews.
True, but that’s not the context in which it’s being referenced in this case.
Definition of war from Oxford dictionary:
a state of armed conflict between different nations or states or different groups within a nation or state.
Maybe I’m just not hearing about the Palestinian side of the armed conflict, but is that part still happening? This has felt very one sided for a long while.
It is literally “Israel” and US, UK, Germany, France, Canada, Italy attacking mostly children and women, and lately killing people looking for food.
That’s not a requirement for a war. Civil wars, for example, do not have international belligerents by definition.
Retake is quite the word to describe an invasion.

Can someone tell, when and where is the next demonstration in Germany? Preferably in BW, but could be anywhere.
Also, where could I find such information? If I search for demonstrations, I only find articles about past events.
I’d also appreciate if anyone has ideas what else to do, because currently demonstrations and donations are the only things I can do, but it still feels like I’m not doing anything.
The helplessness is so fuckin’ frustrating, it’s beyond imagination. The inaction is killing me.

From the top of my head things to do outside of Demonstrations:
Advocate for boycotts.
For instance the “Heidelberg Materials” before “Heidelberg Cement” is illegally exploiting a quarry in the occupied Westbank and is crucial to the construction of more settlements. If you look around there might be a regional group that focuses on them.Organize and participate in cultural events
It is important that Palestinian voices, and voices from other people suffering under Israeli attacks are heard. This goes beyond just living under the attacks. It is as important to help people spread their rich culture and history so Germans understand that Palestinians, Lebanese, Syrians, Jordanians, Yemenis, Iraqis and Iranians are people like any other people and have the same rights as individuals and as people.You should look to find local initiatives, which surely exist already in a place nearby where you life. They might have other ideas and already have an infrastructure to organize things.
