Radical means extreme. Reactionary does in fact just mean reacting and trying to stop/turn back newer political decisions. The left in the USA or during Nazi Germany for example are reactionary , as they couldn’t set the pace themselves but instead had to react what the fascists were doing.
Once you go radical you leave your brain at the door. Makes life easier you don’t have to think. They do it for you.
