Not really, just shows the logos of 4 brands that some people may think are European (Côte D’Or, Milka, Toblerone and Häagen Dazs).
Interesting that your country blocks some Lemmy instances.

You’re correct. I have one and use it as a weather display but it’s not comparable to a tablet.

Compound words are cheating, but you got me with Präambel!

So I trust you only drink true native unsweetened Xocoatl?

Coincidentally yes, Hagen is a place name and das means “the”. In that combination it’s absolute gibberish though and Häagen Dazs’ founder probably had no idea about those meanings. He was trying to make it sound Danish. In his own words:
“The only country which saved the Jews during World War II was Denmark, so I put together a totally fictitious Danish name and had it registered,” Mattus told me. “Häagen-Dazs doesn’t mean anything. [But] it would attract attention, especially with the umlaut.” Source

Very little resemblance to German either. Words with “äa” aren’t a thing, neither are words that end in “zs”.
It’s not, Pine64EU is just a European store for Pine64 products. The Pine64 organization making the actual tablets is based in Hong Kong.

Yes, I use it a few times a week. Today I’ve used it to modify some 3d-Shader code for example. It’s pretty useful for generating short sections of code or modifying code I’m unfamiliar with. Never used it for coding entire projects or anything like that, but I think that’s a terrible idea with any AI.

Mistral is European and pretty solid for coding.

Actually you’re right, looking further into it, some of their cheapest and wireless models are indeed made in China now. :( But their Hifi stuff is still all made in Europe at least.

Sennheiser headphones are made in Germany and Romania. Beyerdynamic are made in Germany.

Leaving aside Israel’s ulterior motives for doing that, Somaliland has been an independent, stable country for decades now and should be recognized.

I do agree with the problem of being too focused on news articles, which sometimes seem barely relevant on this community (like the heritage foundation calling for the end of the EU). But I’m not sure if creating a 4th splinter group is the best move. Maybe there should be a community feedback post first to see what the community wants and possibly suggest changes that the moderation here could implement?
feddit.org 🇩🇪
Technically 🇦🇹, as it’s hosted in Austria.

It was already a dead franchise. Worst case it’ll stay that way. But I’m not without hope, as not all Amazon adaptations are bad, e.g. The Expanse or The Boys.
On the other hand I don’t know how to feel about Emmerich being involved. I think he always disliked the direction the series took after his (very different and IMO inferior) movie.

If it happens, I hope they won’t make the same mistakes as the EU and make sure to implement these rules in a way that they can’t be easily circumvented. The way in which Apple “complies” with the EU’s rules makes them almost worthless.

There are many. My current e-bike is a Focus, made in Germany and using a German Bosch motor. Very happy with it. Generally not every single component will be European though, for example my bike’s brakes are Shimano and the suspension is SR Suntour.

The petition (along with the Pirate Software drama) has recently been covered by quite a few very popular content creators like MoistCritikal, Asmongold and Pewdiepie. I think that made a lot of difference, as their videos on the topic have millions of views.

I just hope it’s natural traffic and not a ton of bots. The recent acceleration in signatures has been great to see, but also a bit… suspicious. In any case we should keep collecting as many signatures as possible after the million, as there will undoubtedly be fake/invalid signatures that will be filtered out at the end.
Nope, it’s on lemmings.world.
