I am totally lost regarding this particular shower thought. Our family has happened to buy two vehicles from CarMax in the last 3 months and both were painless and straightforward.
I agree completely. We always show up with a loan check from our bank, we haven’t financed through a dealership since our first experience decades ago, which was horrible.
having a loan for a bit and paying it off at least used to be good for your credit rating. I think I waited at least 3 months. Usually the car loan was not that bad a deal so a few months on it was no big deal. I would probably check if its still a nice credit bump before doing it though because like anything you gotta sorta track how they are doing things at any particular time.

I usually get a dealership loan and then a loan to pay it off a few months later.
